Anatolikos Vineyards
The winery was officially established in 2005 by two brothers, Sakis and Marios Nikolaidis. Originally restaurant owners who saw the need for low-intervention wines. This led them to start buying very old vineyards in 2000 that were located in Avdira an ancient city of Thrace. These vineyards had been left unattended for years which made them perfect to revive under biodynamic practices.
The vineyards are located on dry hills of Avdira city, with an altitude of 50-70 meters and approximately 2 km away from the sea. The sandy and volcanic terrain, continuous cool winds and Avdira’s microclimates contribute to the high-quality wines they are making today. The wines are certified biodynamic and vegan. Using ancient amphora techniques, spontaneous fermentation with low or no added sulfur, no fining or filtering.
