Caven

Established in 1982 by brothers Stefano and Simone Nera, son of Pietro Nera of Nera Winery, Caven, named for the Camunian civilization that inhabited the area leaving archeological findings of historical value, is the epitome of heroic winemaking. With 30 hectares of terraced vineyards at their disposal in Valtellina including Inferno, Sassella, Grumello and Vagella a majority of which is devoted to Chiavannasco, an extraordinary native variety of Nebbiolo.

The family’s philosophy has always been “wine is made in the vineyards”. Painstaking attention to cultivation, pruning, harvesting and selection ensures the highest possible quality of wine.
