Catch & Release Wines

We make wines we like to drink, in partnership with growers who lead from the front of regenerative farming. We champion simplicity, prioritize delicacy, and crave acidity at every turn.

Catch & Release was started in 2019 by Beno and Monica Stewart. The project serves as an outlet for creative expression, partnership, and an opportunity to support those who choose to farm in a conscious manner. The aim is to make serious wines without taking ourselves too seriously, the previous two sentences notwithstanding.

We’re not farmers, but we work with some pretty good ones! Our fruit comes from select organic or biodynamically farmed vineyards, that range from the deep Mendocino to the Santa Cruz Mountains. Raw materials are at the core of Catch & Release.

Our sourcing allows for a simple approach in the cellar. All wines are fermented natively, and the only additive we use is S02. We see sulfur as an effective tool, and work with it in a deliberate, not prescriptive manner.
